Early startup projects and finalists in DTU's X-Tech Entrepreneurship course and the Ignite accelerator programme received awards online.
Innovation projects from students and early startup projects at DTU were celebrated on Wednesday in a zoom meeting with more than 300 registered and interested participants. The biggest prize of DKK 200,000 in the X-Tech Final went to the startup project Caelimetrics, which has developed a drone equipped with sensors that can collect valuable data from streams, which can be of value to municipalities.

Thomas J. Howard, Head of the X-Tech Entrepreneurship course commends the students for having completed their projects during a period when DTU has been closed due to the corona crisis.
“The students have done great work considering the COVID-19 circumstances. Reading all the business plans and seeing the student pitches has been very impressive,” says Thomas Howard.
The X-Tech Entrepreneurship program consists mainly of business-to-business projects from external companies and from research and technology projects at DTU. The projects are technology related and have social impact.
On the X-Tech course, the students are placed in teams of master students from different fields of study, who are mixed with students from CBS and Copenhagen Business Academy. The teams then work for 15 weeks to commercialize their technology projects. The course was developed in collaboration with Grundfos, PreSeed Ventures and Otto Bruuns Fond, which is behind the awards for the winning projects.
Ignite
This afternoon's program continued with chat and debate until the finals of DTU Skylab's 10-week accelerator program Ignite. The winner of today's biggest prize was the startup project Nature Boards, which received DKK 25,000 for their further work on developing structural panels and insulation based on fungal roots.
