Ecooil's participation in DTU Entrepreneurship's HardTech Entrepreneurship course helped pave the way to a first prize at this year's Green Challenge within the category Master Course.
Ecooil's participation in DTU Entrepreneurship's HardTech Entrepreneurship course helped pave the way to a first prize at this year's Green Challenge within the category Master Course. Part of the motivation for the prize was: "Good business model. A significant and visionary project with high impact contributing to several SDGs".
Green Challenge
Green Challenge is an educational initiative at DTU. The aim is to ensure that future engineers integrate aspects of sustainability, climate technology, and the environment in their work.
Ecooil
Ecooil comprises of five DTU engineers who have produced a cleantech solution for solving crop waste burning problem in India, Punjab with 2nd generation biofuel production from waste during the HardTech Entrepreneurship Course.

Congratulations to Mukesh Narendran (photo left) from DTU Physics and Nanoscience, J. Pandey, N. Bilde, O. Stadigh, and A. Gokhale from DTU Chemical Engineering, DTU Design and Innovation, DTU Mechanical Engineering and DTU Wind Energy, respectively.
As feedback to the HardTech Entrepreneurship course, Mukesh Narendran says: “ On behalf of the team Ecooil, thank you for an amazing experience at the HardTech Entrepreneurship course. Recently, at the Venture Cup, we weren't winners but we were given the opportunity to be one of the two national start-ups that represent Denmark in the global climate launch pad and invited to present our solution in Amsterdam towards 14 and 15 November along with 100 other start-ups from 50 countries. Last Friday, we took the first prize for the Master Project in the Green Challenge held at DTU. I was selected for the European Venture Programme held by the EuroTech Universities and will be representing our team. All of this wouldn't have been possible without the best guidance from both of you (Thomas J. Howard and Jakob Axel Bejbro Andersen) at the course and the HardTech Entrepreneurship team. I also wish to thank Eva Andreakou from the HardTech Entrepreneurship team for introducing me to the simple and creative use of design for communication”
